And so it begins ...

Wildlife through the bike frame
takes on a whole new meaning.

I shudder to think of what
we have just unleashed.

Instead of guessing, I would like a poll to submit REQUESTS for a future sequel to this shot.

Cannot unsee what I has seen :(

Now I really do have to get you a roo shot. Not 'til I'm back on the bikes, though.

Quick question about winter riding (I moved from the subtropics to somewhere that actually has seasons) - how do you manage with cold air and breathing? I gave up on riding last winter because one good lungful of cold air had me slumped over the bars in asthmatic spasms, but Canberra's not really cold enough to justify a balaclava. You seem like someone who might have ideas on this problem, and I'd frankly rather keep riding. Cheers!

Judi, are you using an inhaler? I have no problem breathing in cold temps. If you're area is too warm to justify a balaclava, I don't know why you'd have trouble breathing. It sounds "cool" not "cold" compared to what we deal with up here.

I know several people, including my daughter, who do much better if they take a puff or two from an inhaler a few minutes before a ride. If you're not using one, I'd recommend asking your doctor if you could try it to see if it helps.

I do have an inhaler- to be honest, using it as a preventive measure hadn't occurred to me. Once I'm moving and warm, it should be okay, so I will try this when it starts getting cold again in April

It gets cold here by Australian standards (temps are usually at zero Celsius (32F) by the time I'm riding to work, although apparent temps are easily ten degrees (down to 14F) lower, because it's ridiculously windy), but once you get rolling, it gets too warm under the helmet.
